Situated in the picturesque Usk valley, Roland, Beverley and their daughter Holly extend a warm welcome to the newly named and completely refurbished Llangeview Lodge The Whatley-Bates family took over the business earlier in the year in May, as Holly used to work here when it was called The Rat Trap.

The family is originally from Kent and are no strangers when it comes to running a successful business as they have another pub in their hometown.
When the premises became available on the market, Holly showed it to her parents and they instantly fell in love, sparing no expense with a complete refurbishment.

“The Lodge has been created as a welcoming home for weary walkers and intrepid explorers after a day in the surrounding Welsh valleys,” said Beverley.
“Our guests are invited to relax in the cosy bar where we have good wine and local real ales alongside the other popular bar room tipples.

“Visit our adjoining restaurant where the food is home-cooked using fresh local produce when possible to enhance the freshness and taste of every individual plate of food whether it be a hearty breakfast, bar snacks or a la carte.

“Meals on the menu include a choice of steaks and options from the grill, home-cooked honey roast ham, homemade curries and chilli, as well as a splendid choice for vegetarians.

“We offer traditional pub classics with a gastro twist – we’re lucky enough to be surround by high-quality food producers and farms from the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside.”
Every Wednesday evening from 6pm onwards diners can take advantage of their fantastic steak offer, where you can get an 8oz rump steak with peas, tomatoes, mushrooms, onion rings and steak sauce for only £9.95 – Voice was lucky enough to take a photo of this epic meal to entice you.
