Escape the relentless pace of modern life at Llandegfedd, which has over 400 acres of water, woodlands and grasslands to explore.

Owned and managed by Welsh Water as a hub for health and enjoyment, there is plenty to see and do with the kids this summer. The visitor centre is free to enter and the best place to find out about wildlife sightings and trails or to buy an angling or bird watching permit.

Designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its importance to large numbers of over-wintering wildfowl, Llandegfedd is one of the major sites for birds in Wales with over 240 bird species recorded.

Waterside Restaurant

Enjoy panoramic views of the reservoir and water sports activities from the waterside restaurant, together with a delicious breakfast, hot and cold lunches, cakes and afternoon tea.

Water Sports

The centre specialises in tuition and equipment hire, offering one of the best sailing experiences in South Wales. Enjoy the thrill of the open water and choose from paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking and sailing. All activities follow the relevant National Governing Bodies and all courses are run by qualified instructors.

Schools out

Every school holiday, multi-activity days can be booked for children from 8 to 16 years to experience a selection of water sports activities at £50 per person per day or £220 for a week. Packages Choose from either a sail or paddle sports taster day. Spend a day at the reservoir trying different sports (sail or paddle) and finish off with a trip around the reservoir – lunch is also included. It’s the perfect day out and you may just find a sport you fall in love with. Adults are £70 and children £40, with minimum number of people required.

Angling

Get hooked at Llandegfedd, where the reservoir is well stocked with bank and boat fishing for brown and rainbow trout and is home to the British Record pike – a 46lb, 13oz fish caught in 1991.

Private hire

Offering panoramic views of the reservoir and fully accessible, a large function room is available to hire for your special celebration. It is ideal for children’s parties, family gatherings, celebratory events or a business meeting. Catering can also be provided by the centre’s experienced staff. For the more adventurous, there’s a wide range of team building activities available.
