Daz Mondeo June 15th, 2015
I didn't choose this place, it chose me.

It is a very special place.

Where the madness of life fades,

And consciousness begins.

Sometimes I walk there with family.

Usually I walk there with Bella my dog.
Sometimes I walk there on my own,

But I am never alone.

I take with me all my family, and all my friends.

They travel with me in my mind, in my heart, in my soul.

They all exist in my very being.

This is a very special place indeed.

On Friday evening, 22nd May
Whilst walking home from work,

My older brother Jeff passed away.
He was 53.

We never got to see anywhere near enough of each other.

We never got to speak or say the things we should have.

We were always doing the same things,

Just at different times and locations.

But our paths quite often crossed.

Jeff was walking on his own at his time of passing,

But he was not walking alone.

I can assure you everyone that he loves,

Was with him at that time.

He was not alone then, and he is not alone now,

As he takes his place in eternity.
He will be remembered for being a kind and gentle soul.

He will be remembered for being a gentleman.

He will be remembered for his intelligence.

He will be remembered for his humour.

He will be remembered for the musical path he set me on,

And the way that has shaped my life.

He will be remembered for all the good times we had.

Particularly, the gigs we went to see.

He will be remembered just for being the brother he is to me.
I was looking forward to giving Jeff

A copy of an album I am singing on

That is still in the making.

Sadly, that is now not going to be.

All I can do now, is take his spirit into the studio, and onto the stage,
In the hope that the music
gets to be played loud enough,
So that
even he will get to hear.

He loved the band Deep Purple,

So to use a couple of titles to their songs

You may no longer be a Perfect Stranger,

But you are now a Highway Star.

Shine brightly dear brother, shine strong.
