Published on 16/10/2020

BARNES Graham 'Bodge' On Monday 5th October, following a short illness borne with grace, fortitude and acquiescence, Graham aged 68 years young, departed this life; or as observed by Graham, "I'll be going back to the earth, creating new lifehave a free view to a universe of stars." Dearly cherished son of the lovely Audrey, Dad (and all things) to Emma, Phil and Alun and Bampy to Ieuan. A private family service will be held at Langstone Vale Crematorium on 23rd October at 11:30am. Recognising the close and supportive community that Graham has grown up and lived in, neighbours and friends are invited to pay tribute by lining the route as the cortege leaves Ailesbury Street at 10:45am all are very welcome. Informal, casual and especially colourful clothes to be worn to celebrate Graham's life. Family flowers only with donations to Surfers Against Sewage, a charity close to Graham's heart, recognising a life-long passion for surfing (or at least watching it in awe during later life!).

Hi Bill, thanks for this lovely message. Dad loved working at Wynns especially as it started his love of commercial fitting. Never heard anyone call him blinky?!?! Em x

RIP Graham. A good friend from many years ago. In late 60’s early 70’s spent many a night on the town with Graham, used to walk to town from Malpas and pick Graham at his home in Ainsley Street. We got into surfing together with regular trips to Porthcawl and Biarritz. I lost contact after moving to NZ but have always remembered him as a great guy and friend. Des

very sad news I was blinky's partner in all things at Wynns where we were both apprentices, we had the same tastes in music, and we used to bump into each other in asda and reminisce ,farewell old friend RIP
