TRIGG Noel Francis On October 29th at his home, Noel aged 86 years, (former Lord Mayor of Newport). Beloved husband of the late Valerie, much loved father of Louise and Melanie, father in law of Andrew and cherished grandfather of Kirsty, Luke, Gabrielle, Chloe and Mia, Wayne and Alex, and great-grandfather of Elise, Logan, Sienna, Rhea-Mae and Carter. A private family funeral service will take place at St Mary's Church, Malpas on Saturday 21st November at 11am.The horse drawn hearse will travel along Bettws Lane at 10am, then clockwise around Monnow Way, before returning to Bettws Lane on route to the church, for anyone wishing to pay their respects whilst socially distancing. Worked with Noel in the 70s as a carpenter on the Bettws estate, what a lovely person he was, always helpful, kind and pleasant. Newport has lost a true gentleman. RIP Noel. My condolences to his family.
