(COMMERCIAL STREET, NEWPORT) (TEMPORARY CHANGE IN LENGTH OF DISABLED PARKING BAY) ORDER 2021
NOTICE is hereby given that Newport City Council in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and all other enabling powers intends not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an order the effect of which will be as described in the Schedule Parts 1 & 2 below.
The reason for making the order is to ensure public safety by reallocating road space for social distancing purposes. The order will come into operation on 25 May 2021 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the national social distancing requirements cease, whichever is the earlier. Emergency vehicle access will be available. The draft order and a map showing the affected roads can be requested by emailing conveyancing.team@newport.gov.uk.
SCHEDULE
Part 1 - Suspension
The Newport City Council (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement) Order 2019 Schedule 1 shall be suspended and shall have no effect insofar as its provisions relate to Commercial Street ( bay location adjacent to Central View Development and Apartments ). The current bay length of 41 metres shall be reduced to 31 metres - a reduction of 10 metres. Part 2 - No Parking or Waiting At Any Time-For a distance of 10 metres, eastern side of Commercial Street (outside Central View Development and Apartments). The disabled parking bay be reduced in length. Zig-zag markings be installed for 10 metres to prevent obstruction to both car park at Central View Development and Apartments' and the approach to the existing crossing point.

Rhan 1 - Atal Dros Dro Bydd Atodlen 1 Gorchymyn Cyngor Dinas Casnewydd (Gwahardd a Chyfyngu ar Aros a Llwytho a Mannau Parcio ar y Stryd) (Gorfodi Sifil) 2019 yn cael ei atal dros dro ac ni fydd yn cael unrhyw effaith i'r graddau y mae ei darpariaethau'n ymwneud a Stryd y Fasnach (y maen ger Datblygiad a Fflatiau Central View). Bydd hyd presennol y bae, sef 41 metr, yn cael ei leihau i 31 metr - gostyngiad o 10 metr.
Rhan 2 - Dim Parcio nac Aros Ar Unrhyw Adeg -Am bellter o 10 metr, ochr ddwyreiniol Stryd y Fasnach (y tu allan i Ddatblygiad a Fflatiau Central View). Y bae parcio i'r anabl i'w leihau o ran hyd. Gosodir marciau igam-ogam am 10 metr er mwyn atal rhwystrau i'r maes parcio yn Natblygiad a Fflatiau Central View ac ar y dynesiad i'r groesfan bresennol.
