Notice ID: NP3920758

Notice effective from
21st November 2016 to 21st December 2016

NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL (BRIDGE STREET, CLYTHA PARK ROAD, GODFREY ROAD & TUNNEL TERRACE, NEWPORT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2016
Notice is hereby given that the Newport City Council in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act (as amended) have made an Order the effect of which is:-
1. To prohibit any vehicle proceeding along Godfrey Road (from its junction with Bridge Street to its junction with Faulkner Road), Clytha Park Road (from its junction with Godfrey Road/Tunnel Terrace to its junction with Caerau Road) and Tunnel Terrace (from its junction with Bridge Street for a distance of approximately 30 metres)

2. To suspend the one-way traffic order on Tunnel Terrace (between its junctions with Bridge Street and Windsor Terrace)

3. To prohibit any person from proceeding along the footbridge linking Tunnel Terrace to Albert Terrace.

The alternative route will be signed. The reason for making the Order is to allow carriageway resurfacing and tying-in works as part of the new Bridge Street railway bridge works and to enable the footbridge to be raised in height. The Order is operative from 24 November 2016 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. NB. It is anticipated that the works at 1 and 2 above will be completed between 00:01 hours on 24 November and 06:00 hours on 28 November 2016 during which time pedestrian access will be maintained via the footbridge. Emergency vehicle access will not be available through the site whilst the works are underway. Whilst the footbridge is being raised, at an unspecified later date, pedestrian access will be available via the adjacent, re-opened road bridge with footways.

CYNGOR DINAS CASNEWYDD (BRIDGE STREET, CLYTHA PARK ROAD, GODFREY ROAD A TUNNEL TERRACE, CASNEWYDD) GORCHYMYN (GWAHARDD TRAFFIG DROS DRO) 2016
Hysbysir trwy hyn bod Cyngor Dinas Casnewydd wrth weithredu ei bwerau o dan y Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y'i diwygiwyd) wedi gwneud Gorchymyn, a fydd a'r effaith o:-
1. Wahardd unrhyw gerbyd rhag teithio ar hyd Godfrey Road (o'i chyffordd a Bridge Street at ei chyffordd a Faulkner Road), Clytha Park Road (o'i chyffordd a Godfrey Road/Tunnel Terrace at ei chyffordd a Caerau Road) a Tunnel Terrace (o i chyffordd a Bridge Street am bellter o tua 30 metr)

2. Atal dros dro y gorchymyn traffig unffordd ar Tunnel Terrace (rhwng ei chyffyrdd a Bridge Street a Windsor Terrace)

3. Atal unrhyw berson rhag mynd ar hyd y bont droed sy n cysylltu Tunnel Terrace a Albert Terrace.

Bydd y llwybr arall wedi ei arwyddo. Y rheswm dros wneud y Gorchymyn yw galluogi gwaith gosod wyneb newydd ar y gerbytffordd a gwaith clymu i mewn fel rhan o waith pont reilffordd newydd Bridge Street a i gwneud yn bosibl codi r bont droed yn uwch. Bydd y gorchymyn yn weithredol o 24 Tachwedd 2016 a bydd yn parhau mewn grym am gyfnod heb fod yn fwy na deunaw mis neu nes bydd y gwaith y bwriedir ei wneud wedi ei gwblhau, p'un bynnag sydd gynharaf. DS. Rhagwelir y bydd y gwaith yn 1 a 2 uchod yn cael ei gyflawni rhwng 00:01 ar
24 Tachwedd a 06:00 ar 28 Tachwedd 2016
ac yn ystod y cyfnod hwnnw bydd mynediad i gerddwyr ar hyd y bont droed o hyd. Ni fydd mynediad i gerbydau argyfwng ar gael trwy r safle tra bo'r gwaith yn cael ei wneud. Tra bo r bont droed yn cael ei chodi, ar ddyddiad diweddarach amhenodol, bydd mynediad i gerddwyr ar gael ar hyd y bont ffordd gyfagos a throetffyrdd a fydd wedi cael ei hailagor.
