NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the M48 Motorway in Monmouthshire to allow resurfacing, movement joints, safety barrier works and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place overnight (8.00pm - 6.00am) or daytimes (09.30 - 16.00), commencing on or after 1 September 2017 and be completed by 1 March 2019. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the closure of the eastbound carriageway of the M48 between the exit and entry slip roads at Junction 2.

During the closure traffic would be diverted via the exit and entry slip roads. The closure (which would not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles) would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works period and would only apply when traffic management measures are in place. The Order would come into force on 30 August 2017 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
