Llanhilleth Common (CL17) Town of Pontypool and Community of Llanhilleth Torfaen County Borough
Peakman Limited has applied to the Welsh
Ministers for consent under section 38 of the
Commons Act 2006 for consent to carry out
restricted works on Llanhilleth Common (CL17):
The proposed works are to enable the
proposed recovery of secondary aggregates
and land reclamation.
The proposed works are located at
Tir Pentwys Hafodrynys.
The details of the works on common land are
as follows:
Widening of Cefn Crib Road, forming of a
passing place, reforming of bends to afford
forward visibility and the provision of edge
treatment at discrete locations, for the purpose
of catering for haulage traffic.
Forming of a new section of private haul road
to connect Cefn Crib Road and Blaen y Cwm
Road for the purpose of bypassing newly built
dwellings.
Fencing off existing access through the site,
between the North and South of Common,
and provision of an alternative access for the
purposes of mineral extraction, for health and
safety reasons.
A copy of the application form and map together
with the associated planning application,
environmental statement, supplement to the
environmental statement and second supplement
to the environmental statement and supporting
documentation showing the proposed works
can be inspected at Pontypool Library, Hanbury
Road, Pontypool NP4 6JL between the hours
of 10 am and 4 pm weekdays (but not Mondays
or public holidays) until 5th April 2018. A copy
of the application form and map together with
DVD’s of the associated planning application,
environmental statement, supplement to the
environmental statement and second supplement
to the environmental statement and supporting
documentation showing the proposed works in
electronic format may be obtained by writing to
Geldards LLP, Dumfries House, Dumfries Place,
Cardiff CF10 3ZF quoting reference CF106024.2.
Any objections or representations should be
sent in writing ON or BEFORE that date to the
Planning Inspectorate Wales at Crown Buildings,
Cathays Park, Cardiff CF10 3NQ or wales@
pins.gsi.gov.uk. Letters sent to the Planning
Inspectorate cannot be treated as confidential.
They will be copied to the applicant and possibly
to other interested parties.
