A pub/restaurant set in one of Newport's popular suburbs seems to have found a niche with the business community of the city as a preferred location for networking events.

The Ridgeway Bar & Kitchen, in the Ridgeway area of Newport, has been chosen as the venue to host weekly breakfast networking meetings for four of Newport’s business groups.

Members of The Dragons of Newport, Action Business Club, Newport Uskmouth Rotary Club and 4N meet at the venue on alternate mornings to share business advice and pass referrals between themselves.

Already one of the most popular gastro pubs in the city, director David Pell and manager Tom Musto have welcomed the local business community to their establishment.

David Pell said: “Approximately 18 months ago, one of our regular customers in the restaurant asked us if we would consider hosting a business breakfast event for a networking group he was the chair of.

"While we had introduced a business lunch menu and hosted traditional Christmas parties and Beaujolais Day-type events we had not thought about breakfast. Tom and I discussed the idea and decided to give it a go and it’s proven very successful and actually encouraged us to plan to open the pub to the public for breakfast throughout the week.”

The location of the pub and its close proximity to junction 27 of the M4 and the quality of breakfast they serve have been contributing factors to the venues success and it now welcomes more than 60 business people for breakfast each week.
