Torfaen’s annual women in business event has raised £2,220 for Ty Hafan children’s hospice.

The business event was held at the Parkway Hotel and raised the money through ticket sales, a raffle, and a contribution from Santander Bank.

More than 100 businesswomen took part in the event which celebrates the contribution women make to the business community in Gwent.

Cath Thomas, assistant chief officer for economy and environment at Torfaen council, said: “Our annual Women in Business event has grown year on year and has become a highlight of the annual business calendar. As well as the chance for businesses to network in a relaxed environment at the end of the year, it is a good opportunity to raise money for some fantastic causes.

“We are delighted to have raised this money for Ty Hafan which does really important work for the benefit of children across Wales.”

Kelly Dibble, from Ty Hafan, said: “This money will make a real difference to some of the children who need it the most in Wales.

“We must say a big thank you to Torfaen’s Economic Development Team and everyone who attended the event.”
