WESTERN Power Distribution’s Pylonman pounded Gwent charity fund raisers Gemma Sandhu and Skye Lewis with piles of colourful powered paint on a recent visit to St David’s Hospice Care in Newport.

The power distribution firm’s muscle-packed mascot pulled no punches when he loaded the paint over the unsuspecting community fundraisers.

Pylonman was at the Malpas hospice to help promote the annual Kolor Dash event, which is sponsored and supported by Western Power Distribution.

WPD is the main sponsor for the fun event which sees participants cover each other and often everything else within reach with psychedelic powdered paint.

The event this year will be staged in Tredegar Park, Newport, on Sunday, May 20.

Karen Welch, of Western Power Distribution, said: “Kolor Dash is such a wonderfully fun event which we’re more than happy to support. I was particularly pleased to be able to bring Pylonman along this time and for him to really get involved in promoting this event.

“As long term supporters of the charity we are keen to do as much as we can to help support St David’s Hospice Care which does such brilliant work throughout the community.”

Gemma Sandhu, of St David’s Hospice Care, who organises the Kolor Dash, said: “Every year we get absolutely superb support for our Kolor Dash from Western Power Distribution. Pylonman really got stuck in when he came to see us at Malpas - I’m now looking forward to getting my own back at Kolor Dash at Tredegar Park on May 20!”

The Kolor Dash is at Tredegar Park on Sunday, May 20. This event is perfectly family friendly, something for all ages and abilities. Entry is £15 per adult, £10 per child (under 16) and £35 for a family entry based on two adults and two children (under 16). For details call 01633 851051 or visit www.stdavidshospicecare.org.
