Dragons have agreed a new commercial partnership with The Energy Check Company which has signed a deal to become the team’s official energy partner for the next three years.

The independent energy consultancy firm, which provides expertise in utility services and supply, will ensure energy efficiency for Dragons at Rodney Parade and the Energy Check brand will be emblazoned on the team’s kit.

As part of the sponsorship, Energy Check will also have opportunities to present to the Dragons’ portfolio of commercial partners, promote its services through LED advertising at the home of the Dragons and secure tickets and hospitality for Dragons and Wales fixtures.

Robyn Smith, corporate partnership manager at The Energy Check, said: “I’m very excited about the partnership between ourselves and the Dragons. Not only does it give us the opportunity to explore ways to assist the club with reducing their energy consumption, but it also gives The Energy Check a great chance to work together with other commercial partners of the club and be a part of the Dragons success.”

Jon Westwood, head of commercial at the Dragons, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Energy Check on board as a partner of the club for the next three years. The opportunity to work with a partner not just commercially, but also with our stadium management team to review processes and the energy contracts that are in place to drive greater efficiencies is in the true meaning of partnership.

“Rodney Parade is the busiest stadium in Wales, the home of sport in Newport and the region with the Dragons, Newport County AFC and Newport RFC all playing at the venue. So it’s a fantastic time to start work with the Energy Check team to deliver benefits for our operations across all three teams.”

Dragons may have played their final game this season at Rodney Parade, but the ground will still host a further ten fixtures this season and the stadium also plays a vital role in the community supporting community events and corporate functions all year round.
