St Joseph’s Hospital has announced that the £400,000 upgrade to the MRI scanning facilities at its site in Harding Avenue will be complete by the end of August.

This upgrade represents the beginning of a £1m investment programme for the Malpas site over the next six months.

Jane Carpanini, director of Advanced Diagnostics, said: “In line with our ongoing commitment to offering the best facilities and five-star services to patients in South Wales, we are pleased to announce the improvements to our scanning capabilities, modernisation to the facilities and additional capacity to accommodate demand, which all greatly enhances the services of the Advanced Diagnostics Centre of Excellence at the hospital.

"The software update will add a new dimension to our scanning technology. Our Canon Vantage Titan not only offers extra ordinary patient comfort but sets new standards in imaging and productivity.”
