ALBRECHT DÜRER: SIXTEENTH CENTURY SUPERSTAR, Online art history lecture

Explore the work of the extraordinary German painter and printmaker, who was famous in all the courts of Europe by 1520 and was one of the first artistic superstars of the Renaissance. This online talk will look at the fascinating detail in Dürer's biblical and mythological prints and how they influenced both Northern artists and Italian. It will examine his richly-coloured paintings and iconic self-portraits and see how he brought Italian Renaissance ideas to the North. With popular art history lecturer Eleanor Bird for MonLife Heritage Museums - but you can join us from anywhere in the world via Zoom. Only one booking per household necessary. Choose from Monday 10 May 2-4pm, or Saturday 15 May 2-4pm the lecture will be delivered live on both dates. To book www.visitmonmouthshire.com/durer
