Glasbury-on-Wye is found approximately 5 miles from Hay-on-Wye on the main A438 Hereford to Brecon Road. Glasbury, which is sited on one of the main River Wye crossings offers a petrol station/general store, a church, public house, outdoor recreation centre as well as the renowned Foyles hotel and restaurant.

Hay-on-Wye is the closest town and is known the world over for it's annual literary festival held at the end of May.

The town benefits from a wide range of services and facilities including a library, primary school, church, post office, dental surgeries, medical practice as well as a wide range of public houses, restaurants, independent shops and boutiques and a small Co-op supermarket.

The area is also very well known for its outstanding natural beauty and being accessible with the nearest train station being found in Abergavenny, the M4 motorway at Newport and the M50 and Ross-on-Wye.
