Newland Rennie has recently merged with David James & Partners. It now has nine offices, including Newport, Cwmbran and Chepstow, in South-East Wales and the South-West of England

Newland Rennie is a well-known name in estate agency in south east Wales and it has recently taken the decision to spread its wings and join forces with another agent on the English side of the Severn.
The merger with David James & Partners has not only created an enhanced offering in the rural property scene in both areas, it has also helped Newland Rennie in the current climate which is seeing many buyers coming into South Wales from in and around Bristol.
And this flood of buyers is only going to increase with the news that the tolls on the Severn Crossings are being scrapped by the end of 2018.
The new group now has nine offices across south east Wales and the south west of England and employs 70 staff.
Gary Plumley, of Newland Rennie, said: “We are already finding that the majority of people who come through our doors, particularly at our Chepstow branch, are coming over from Bristol. People have been moving over here from there for years but we have seen an increase in recent times and prices are rising quite significantly.”
He said that someone moving into the area from Bristol will find they can get a lot more for their money, and still be able to commute into the city for work either by road or train.
Houses are selling quickly, which is creating a shortage of properties as not enough are coming to market, he said.
The merger with David James & Partners will help both firms in other ways than just selling houses.
It offers a full ‘plot to key’ service, which is especially useful with rural property sales.
Mr Plumley said that someone might by a plot of land or barn to convert at auction through Newland Rennie. In the past, they would have had to look elsewhere for planning advice and for an architect. But now that Newland Rennie has merged with David James & Partners, all of this can be done in house.
The group also now offers valuations, building surveying, land compensation, expert witness and rural AMC finance.
Both firms are well respected and longstanding firms of chartered surveyors and estate agents and they can cover all aspects of property agency.
