SITUATED in Rogerstone, Zeera Restaurant is designed to fulfil the needs of everybody who likes to experience contemporary Bangladeshi and Indian Cuisine.

Open seven days a week including Bank Holidays, the restaurant is already proving a hit with a wide range of clientele, either choosing to eat in Zeera’s recently converted premises at St John Crescent or as a takeaway option.

On the evening my wife and I attended we were greeted by very friendly staff and shown to our seats to allowtime to peruse the menu which included a variety of chef’s speciality and signature dishes. Choice was certainly the order of the day.

We opted for a succulent and delicious starter with the Balti Grill special which included a medley of tandoori-cooked meats which was served promptly and piping hot. This type of starter is always ideal for an intimate evening if you like to share and try new food.

For the main course, mywife chose the Tandoori Chicken and Saag Aloo with Peshwari Naan while I opted for a Balti Chicken Jalfrezi with Pilau Rice and Keema Naan. I was particularly looking for something hot and with a bit of a kick and I have to say, this certainly delivered while at the same time keeping all the fine attributes of flavour intact.

Werounded off the evening with desserts made up of an Orange Sorbet and a Mango Kulfi, both equally refreshing after hot meals.

I would certainly recommend visiting Zeera Restaurant, particularly as they have a wide range of dishes to choose from. There is also one evening a week when the doors are opened to young families for parents who yearn for their favourite Indian Cuisine while children can eat more accessible food.
