THE RHIWDERIN is such a lovely, lovely country pub – and a great place to enjoy a tasty, filling lunch.

I headed there withmyfriend Rhys for a spot of lunch during a busy day in the office – and it proved to be just the tonic.

Wearrived at around 12.30pm and had a look through the extensive lunch menu.

There’s a lot to choose from– curries, traditional pub dishes like fish and chips, the pub’s famous salad bowls and lots more.

I went for the chicken and chorizo salad bowl, while Rhys chose the homemade chicken curry.

Everything is prepared from scratch, but even though the pub was quite busy, I was impressed by the short amount of time it took to get the food out.

The portion sizes were absolutely huge – massive, in fact.Mysalad was a bounty of fresh veg and tasty tomatoes. The chicken and chorizo were served as kebabs, and were utterly incredible – a real taste of summer.

Rhys’ curry, served with a huge portion of half rice and half chips was also good.

With large pieces of chicken, it was evident the sauce was prepared inhouse as it was so tasty.

Sadly we were defeated before we got to the dessert due to the portion sizes – but we left feeling full and satisfied.
