CHRISTCHURCH Music Society’s performance of The Addams Family was a fantastic production for this year’s Hallowe’en.
The story focuses on the dark character, Wednesday, who has fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family where their parents have never met.
After an invite for dinner, you watch the hilarious interaction between the gothic Addams family and the normal Beineke family.
Each character in the show was portrayed brilliantly where Morticia, played by Kate Summers, and Gomez, played by David Middleton, lived up to their wicked characters.
Lurch played by Rhys Bebb, who often doesn’t say a lot apart from grunting, was a hilarious character who had many members of the audience laughing.
The Beineke family were also great characters where you watch them evolve from normal simple people to crazy animals.
A special shout out must be made to Grandma, Angela Everett, who played a wacky old woman who was always a welcome appearance on the stage.
The costumes and different stage sets were also superb and only added to the performance.
The show was jam packed with singing, laughter, and horror and shouldn’t be missed.
