GREASE is the word! And it opened at the Wales Millennium Centre on Tuesday night with a bang.
It’s the original high-school musical that needs no introduction.
Featuring everyone’s favourite characters - Sandy, Danny, the groovy T Birds, the sassy Pink Ladies and the whole gang at Rydell High - and all the unforgettable songs from the hit movie.
From the opening overture the band was on fire encouraging audience participation as it played through some of the shows big hits.
Tom Parker impresses as he makes his musical theatre debut playing Danny Zuko and Danielle Hope plays Sandy beautifully.
My favourite part of the show was Greased Lightnin’ performed by Tom Senior as Kenickie. I loved everything from Tom Senior’s outstanding performance to the suped-up transformation of the car including lots of flashing lights.
Louisa Lytton plays Rizzo with great feeling and her performance of There are Worse Things I Could Do was really moving. Another highlight from the second half was Jimmy Osmond’s performance as Teen Angel.
From the vibrant set and costumes to the excellent performances on stage Grease is a fantastic night out for the whole family.
You have until Saturday July 29 to see the show.
