EVERYONE’S favourite kooky family are now on stage in Wales.
The musical is based around The Addams’ daughter Wednesday, the ultimate princess of darkness, who is all grown up and has a shocking secret that only her father Gomez knows. She’s fallen in love with a sweet young man from a respectable family.
Throughout the show we find out if, while keeping his cherished wife Morticia in the dark, Gomez manages to succeed in keeping his daughter’s secret, especially when the families meet up for a hilarious meal.
Bouncing onto the stage Cameron Blakely shines as Gomez and is complimented by the wonderfully gothic performance of Samantha Womack as Morticia.
Les Dennis also gives a great performance as Uncle Fester.
As the show follows Wednesday’s story, Carrie Hope Fletcher is outstanding as Wednesday Addams and the song Crazier Than You with Oliver Ormson, who portrays Lucas Beineke, was a highlight of the second act.
With a full and constantly changing set, what made the show for me was the wonderful lighting department which helped set the scenes, from a lightning storm to moving portraits on the walls.
