WHAT better way is there to get in the Christmas spirit than to enjoy a world class ballet with your loved ones at St David’s Hall in Cardiff.

The venue has got the festive season all wrapped up with three enchanting productions from the prestigious Russian State Ballet & Orchestra of Siberia.

This captivating series starts in style with the world’s favourite rags to riches fairytale, Cinderella between Tuesday December 19 and Wednesday December 20.

The second show invites audiences to be swept off to a mysterious place where nothing is quite as it seems in the festive favourite, The Nutcracker between Thursday December 21 – Sunday December 24.

The greatest romantic ballet of all time, Swan Lake will take place between Wednesday, December 27 and Sunday, December 31, which features Tchaikovsky’s haunting score.

For the first time ever at St David’s Hall, this year’s ballet season features a sprinkling of special effects with an atmospheric and ever-changing digital backdrop to make everything even more magical.

Ekaterina Bulgutova from the Russian State Ballet of Siberia, speaking to St David’s Hall, described Christmas as a “magical time for children and adults”.

“We do our utmost to take our audience to a fairytale world where dreams come true like when a young girl falls in love with a prince, who protects her from evil,” she said.

“Dreams help us to live a happy life, and without them life would be dull and empty.”
