ROCK giants REM are playing a gig at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium this summer as part of a four-date UK tour to promote their new album Accelerate.
The American band, one of the biggest in the world, play in the Welsh capital on Monday, August 25.
REM - Michael Stipe, Peter Buck and Mike Mills - will play a full US tour in May and June before embarking on a European trip that will also see them visit locations including Amsterdam, Dublin and Scotland's T in the Park.
The band, from Athens, Georgia, play at the Millennium Stadium just weeks after two other high profile performers Bruce Springsteen and Neil Diamond arrive.
REM, who last played in Cardiff three years ago, became globally famous with the hits Losing My Religion, Shiny Happy People and Everybody Hurts.
Tickets cost £45 and go on sale on Friday.
They are available on 08448 471 549 or www.ticketmaster.co.uk
