MEMBERS of Cirencester Male Voice Choir are lending their voices for a special concert on Saturday to mark the 50th anniversary of a welsh male voice choir.

Caldicot Male Voice Choir will perform alongside Cirencester's singers in the Parish Church on Saturday, March 23 for the concert, which is one in a series of 50 in celebration of Caldicot's half century.

The concert programme, which is being described as an 'Evening of Welsh Song', will also include soprano soloist, Erin Hughes, from Siddington. Cirencester and Caldicot Male Voice Choirs will come together to form a 100-strong choir for the finale.

This is Cirencester MVC 'S first concert in the Parish Church since their very successful appearance at the London Welsh Festival of Male Choirs in the Royal Albert Hall in October last year. The choir, which is currently running a male voice singing course in the Town Hall, is hoping that some of these men will be able to join in in the concert too.

Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, are £8 and include light refreshments. Money raised will be donated to the Parish Church's restoration fund.
