WALLIKER Elizabeth Myra (Myra) Following a long life that was lived well, Myra passed away on 14th July 2023 aged 95. Myra devoted herself to others and was active in many Newport communities, including as Church Warden and Secretary at St John's Church Maindee, Mother's Union Secretary, The League of Friendship, Newport Girls High School Alumnae and Meals on Wheels amongst others. Myra served refreshments for The Red Cross and Usk Prison visitors and volunteered with St David's Hospice Care. In her spare time Myra was a lifelong member of Newport Rugby Club and enjoyed many holidays with friends and family, including regular trips to Belgium and Tenerife to see her daughter Sue and her family. Myra also spoke fluent French. Myra was a wonderful mother to Sue and Richard, a beloved mother-in-law to Maurice and Cathy, a treasured Grandma to Mathieu, Laura, Elise and Joseph, and Great Grandma to Victoria. Myra was a big sister to Hugh. Myra's funeral will be held on Tuesday 22nd August, St John's Church Maindee at 12.15pm followed by the committal at Gwent Crematorium. Family flowers only please.
