Nine year old Leah Coombes made her mascot debut today for a tough encounter for Newport with unbeaten Pontypridd. Leah who attends Ysgol Cymraeg Caerfilli came along with brother Ryan who had lead out the team earlier in the season.

Before kick off, she met up with favourite player Scott Sneddon. Scott went on to score an excellent try in the game along with a haul of points from the boot.

Leah then lead out Newport with captain Craig Attwell for an excellent display of open running rugby between two talented and committed sides in a fantastic advert for Welsh Premiership rugby.

Newport went in at the break with a commanding lead, but Pontypridd came back strongly in the last quarter but were contained a point short.
