NEWPORT Scouts and Guides have a job on their hands this festive season to deliver thousands of the city’s Christmas cards.
Their Christmas post service, which raises around £30,000 each year to keep the groups for youngsters going, is under way.
At Newport Scout HQ at Skip Jennings Hall, on Tregare Street, Scouts and Guides from around 22 different groups are busily sorting post which has been dropped off at various points around Gwent.
Stamps can be purchased at 18p from shops across the city and cards need to be posted in the special boxes there before December 11.
The teams then go out all over Gwent to make sure people receive their post before the big day.
Organiser Roger Swabey said: “It raises about £30,000 each year which goes back to the groups.”
