MORE than 1,000 people are expected to gather in Abergavenny and Newport for the traditional Boxing Day Hunts.
In Abergavenny town centre hundreds are expected to see the start of the Monmouthshire Hunt.
Up to 45 riders and hounds will gather in Cross Street outside the Angel Hotel at 10.30am for the Boxing Day hunt on December 26, organised by the Abergavenny Hunt Committee, and a traditional event since the 1700s.
In Newport, hundreds are set to watch the Tredegar Farmers' Hunt which leaves from Bassaleg's Tredegar Arms.
The hunt runs from 9am before the riders a short distance down the A468 and off into the country.
