DRAGONS rugby players were on hand to celebrate the opening of a new venue for young people in Newport.
The building on Skinner Street has been transformed by a group of young volunteers working on a DIY SOS style project run in partnership with social enterprise improve.1.
Local companies donated materials so the volunteers could transform the building into a meeting place for young people in the city, including creating a coffee shop and a nightclub room.
The centre opened last week with Dragons Ian Nimmo, Josh Tyler and Matthew Pewtner joining Newport East AM John Griffiths for the opening.
Ceri Jones from Improve.1, said: "This has been such a fantastic opportunity for the young people to gain live work based learning to help them progress and there have been over 20 volunteers involved.
"Also we would like to say a big Thank You to all the companies who have made donations as part of Design Factor, the community space will offer workshops and training"
