THERE has been a great response to my Use It or Lose It campaign, run in conjunction with the Argus, to promote and enhance services at the minor injuries unit at Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan, Ebbw Vale.

I spoke to lots of constituents about the unit in Ebbw Vale market during the campaign launch and had lots of feedback about the great service received there.

However, there were still a lot of people that didn’t know the unit existed or understand what injuries the unit can deal with.

If you’re not sure just ring the unit on 01495 363318 and check.

Some people have raised issues with a lack of signage outside the unit which I am working with Blaenau Gwent Council to rectify Keep you comments coming in, use the service and make sure it stays in Blaenau Gwent.

News of the £11.5m new station and rail extension in Ebbw Vale has been a long time coming.

I’ve been calling for this for years, working with the Welsh Government to get it agreed and now funding has been granted.

This extension will capitalise on the success of the existing service and hopefully will be the catalyst to increasing the train frequency along the line.

I am still working with my Welsh Government and Local Government on calls for the Abertillery spur and will keep you updated on any developments.

There is no doubt that the rail line has been a much-needed boost to Blaenau Gwent, linking the borough to the European rail system.

Its popularity does not seem to be waning and with the planned electrification of the line, its success will go from strength to strength.
