POLICE say the death of a 28-year-old woman from Chepstow whose body was found in a car in a lay-by in Cornwall is being treated as unexplained.

The Ford Mondeo car was parked near the West Wayland Caravan Park on the A387 between Polperro and Looe.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the scene at 5.30pm on Friday.

An inquest has not yet been opened. Police say they are now waiting for the results of forensic tests.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, but police say the death is being treated as unexplained at this time, rather than murder.

The man, from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, was arrested at the scene and taken to Newquay Police Station. He has been released on bail.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101.
