WE’RE heading for a “barbecue weekend” with the highest temperatures this year, according to Met Office forecasts.
The thermometer is expected to reach 26C in Newport on Sunday, above the highest temperature recorded in Wales this year, 25.1C in Usk on June 19.
In Newport the thermometer will rise from 21 C today to 22 C on Saturday, 26 C on Sunday but drop to 25 C on Monday.
A spokesman said: “It is likely we will get some of the warmest if not the warmest temperatures we have seen this year for Wales.”
