A NEWPORT man has been sentenced to 32 months in prison for possession of crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
Andrew Shuttleworth, 19, of Vivian Road, Maindee, was stopped by police on Wednesday April 3 walking along Corporation Road in Newport.
On searching him he was found to have nine bags of crack cocaine concealed in his underwear. He was arrested for possession with the intent to supply controlled drugs.
A search was carried out at his home, where a further 125 bags of crack cocaine were found.
He was then charged and remanded in custody for possession and possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
The street value of the drugs was estimated at around £5000-£7000.
On June 7 Shuttleworth pleaded guilty to both offences at Newport Crown Court and was sentenced to 139 weeks in prison.
