IMPROVEMENTS will be made to Cardiff airport’s terminal building this winter.
They should be completed by summer and are the first changes planned after the Welsh Government loaned £10 million to the airport.
There will be a new and expanded security area and a new taxi booking and a reception area in arrivals. This will mean changes to the drop off and pick up areas but these will remain free of charge. All other facilities will also be refurbished.
Airport boss Jon Horne, said: “Progress is still about growing the number of flights and destinations and ensuring the airport is easy to get to.”
Airport chairman, Lord Rowe-Beddoe, said: “We have halted the decline in passengers and achieved growth of nine per cent year on year. There is more to be done and we are pleased that our plans are now being implemented.”
