A MAN was rescued from a canal in Govilon last night.
The man, 74, was pulled from the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, near Blaenavon Road, at about 7pm.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics were called at 6.54pm and the man was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny.
And a South Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said a fire crew from Abergavenny attended but the man had been pulled from the water before they got there and they left at 7.27pm.
