TWO men have been jailed after breaking into a home and stealing two cars.
Christopher Hill, aged 25, of Welsh Street in Chepstow, and David Samuel, aged 22, of Tennyson Road in Caldicot, appeared in Cardiff Crown Court yesterday via video link from Cardiff Prison.
The court heard how, on September 19 the two men entered the home of a man who was alone in a house and was sleeping upstairs.
John Lloyd, prosecuting, said they had entered the property through a small opening in a window and had stolen car keys belonging to the occupant and his son, who was not home.
They also stole a wallet containing around £60-£70.
Hill and Samuel were eventually found through CCTV at a McDonald’s in Newport Coldra. One of the stolen cars was not recovered.
Both defendants admitted one count of burglary at an earlier hearing and were sentenced to a total of 18 months imprisonment.
