TWO festive visitors will come to a Gwent community farm this Christmas to share the seasonal joy with families across the county.

On December 14, two real reindeer will be visiting Father Christmas at the Greenmeadow Community Farm grotto in Cwmbran for the day.

A spokeswoman said: “We’ve been working with our friends at Lylac Ridge and are absolutely over the moon to announce that we will have two beautiful, real life reindeer at the farm outside Father Christmas’ grotto, for one day only on Sunday 14th December.

“These gorgeous brothers are just six months old and are yet to be named.

“You can enter a competition to name them on the day and the winner will not only have the reindeer given their chosen name, but will also receive a very special certificate and regular updates and photos of the reindeer throughout the year – what a perfect Christmas prize!”

Normal admission to the farm and Father Christmas’ grotto will apply, on the day but there is with no extra charge to see the reindeer.

Lylac Ridge is a non-profit organisation based in Risca which works with children with learning difficulties through Animal Assisted Therapy, as well as training young people in animal care qualifications

The farm will be open as normal from 10am till 5pm (last admission at 4pm) and the reindeer will be there between 10am and 4.30pm. Access to the reindeer and Father Christmas will be on a first come, first served basis. Admission is are £5.75 per adult;, £4.65 per child (free under two 2’s); £20 family (two adults and three children); plus £2.50 per child to visit Father Christmas in his grotto.
