MUSIC organisations in Abertillery, Blaenau, Gwent, are celebrating after another successful concert involving several groups from the town.
On Sunday, St Michael’s Church in Abertillery hosted a Christmas concert involving Abertillery Town Band, Abertillery Junior Band, Abertillery Ladies’ Orpheus Choir, Abertillery Orpheus Male Choir and Abertillery Youth Drama and Music Society.
The groups entertained the audience with classic Christmas songs and carols.
A spokesman for the Abertillery Town Band said: “The evening was a tremendous success and it was great to see and hear so much talent coming from the many varied community music groups in Abertillery, and to see how much the audience enjoyed the evening too.”
Plans are already under way for the next performance, which will see all the groups combine again for a St David’s Day concert in early March, with new music being considered.
The bands also thanked their conductor, Steve Bard, and their guest conductor, Matt Rowe.
