A NEW call centre set to bring 300 jobs to Cwmbran is set to open this month.

Griffin Place Communications announced the new venture back in November.

Their call centre is to be based at Ty Gwent, Lake View, on Llantarnam Industrial Park.

The company has been recruiting “friendly” telesales agents with good communication skills.

Griffin Place Communications planned to give the new recruits induction training in December to allow them to start work as early as this week.

“We are opening our office for the first time in January 2015, and we are looking for our first, brand new set of telesales agents to join us in our innovative and friendly corporation,” said the company on its website.

“We will offer a basic salary of up to £14,000 plus uncapped commission every month, plus weekly incentives, plus in-depth training and the opportunity to progress to a more managerial position due to the vast growth our company will be undergoing in the upcoming months.

“Our competitive edge is that we search for people with and without experience, it is what you can do with your current skill set that is important to us.”

The jobs were announced on the eve of the UK Investment Summit Wales 2014 at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport.

The First Minister Carwyn Jones said six new investment projects, receiving Welsh Government support, would help create more than 1,100 new, high-quality jobs for Wales, including the 300 Griffin Place Communications positions.

The First Minister said: “Inward investment to Wales is at record levels.

“These six projects are creating a very significant number of new, high-quality jobs for Wales.”

The other projects included the creation of 44 IT engineering jobs with London-based Smartpipe Solutions, also in Cwmbran, and 30 full-time R&D roles in Newport with SPTS Technologies.
