GWENT'S most successful punter missed a chance to become a millionaire in the big race on Saturday.
Afryn "Archie" Evans, 59, from Henllys, Cwmbran, was a VIP guest at Uttoxeter after an amazing win a week ago.
The father-of-three pocketed £695,000 in his Tote Scoop6 triumph from a £2 stake last Saturday.
But his horse pulled up halfway through Saturday's Midlands Grand National, and a bonus bet, which would have landed him a further £330,000, was lost.
