CHEPSTOW Harriers members have raised more than £400 for Nepal Earthquake Relief.

Members took part in the Newport parkrun and held a sweepstake at one of the group's handicap running events to raise the funds.

The money will be donated to Shiva Charity where Bristolian Bob Uppington, is feeding and sheltering those made homeless by the earthquake.

The amount raised will build four temporary homes for a year.

A total of 34 Harriers ran or helped at the parkrun fundraiser with the club donating £10 to every Harrier who ran.

Harriers taking part were Jonathan Carter, David Somersall, Paul Dodd, Niki Morgan, Rob Beves, Sarah Bell, Glen Meek, Georgie Prior, Maria Anthony, Kevin Mcentee, Steve Owen, Danielle Sapsford, Alan Dobbs, Lisa Jeffrey, Neil Grant, Rachel Hipkiss, Berna Cantwell, Gerry Ashton, Mike Evans, Roberta Havers, Wendy Sharpe-Nash, Geoff Bayliss, Sue Ashton, Joc Dodd, Brett Regulski, Jane Bayliss, Anne Jenner, Dick Finch, Jen Harding, Jane Rhymer, Syd Wheeler and Daphne Austerberry.

Mr Carter was so thrilled with his personal best time of 19 minutes and five seconds that he donated an extra £10 to the charity.

There were many others who could not attend the park run, but donated to the cause.
