SUPERMARKET giant Morrisons has teamed up with an Ebbw Vale food artist to create a cheesy gift for Father's Day.

Nathan Wyburn, 25, has helped to launch the store's new pizza-making service where children can build their own dad’s face in edible form.

Following a recent social media poll to determine Britain’s favourite celebrity dads, the supermarket asked Mr Wyburn to create a gastronomic gallery of the five famous fathers including the nation’s number one, footballer David Beckham.

The top five also included a slice of McBusted frontman Tom Fletcher, Take That’s Gary Barlow, TV judge Simon Cowell and The Voice host Marvin Humes.

Each pizza portrait took Mr Wyburn around three and a half hours to complete.

The former Britain’s Got Talent contestant said: “I’ve created a wide range of food art over the past five years, but I have to say this is a new one on me, and a lot of fun.

"I had 26 different ingredients to work with, same as on the Morrisons pizza counter and I think many shoppers will have to think twice about what looks right and what tastes best.”

The service is available at pizza counters in Cwmbran and Newport and encourages kids to get creative by personalising pizzas for the main man in their lives with the help of store colleagues.

A Morrisons spokesperson said: "This is the very first time our customers have ever been able to create edible artwork at our Market Street counters.

"Everyone on the counter will be listening closely to customers, to get each pizza looking just right. We’re pleading with Dad’s in the area to allow their family a little artistic licence.”
