ENVIRONMENT officers caught three men fishing without a valid licence in Abergavenny after a tip-off this week.
Two were fishing at Maerdy Fishery on the River Usk at Llanwenarth, while a thrid was caught on Abergavenny town water.
An Environment Agency Wales spokesperson said: "In recent weeks we have received information from members of the public reporting problems with persons fishing illegally on the River Usk, in the Crickhowell to Abergavenny area.
In response, the Agency's Environmental Crime Team targeted the area this week."
The trio had their rods, lines and bait confiscated.
