PERSONAL trainer Ophelia Hogan's team is the first entry in the 2007 Monmouth Rotary Raft Race which is again raising funds for St David's Foundation Hospice Care.

Ms Hogan said she regularly organises runs and walks for her clients as well as supporting them in a variety of gruelling charity events.

"I decided it would be great fun to do something completely different and the raft race looked like a fun and challenging change."

It is not the first time she supported the Foundation as in 1999 she raised £1,120 after organising an aerobathon.

"I have a client whose husband received fantastic care from St. Davids Foundation and she speaks extremely highly of all that they did for her husband during a very difficult time.

I think that St. David's offers a wonderful service - and I like to support local charity".

Her team will be called "Ophelia's Personal Training" and is made up from a selection of her clients. They are looking forward to building their raft.

"I entered early as it helps to give clients a focus for their training and ensure that they are committed. I am also keen to get a good team together as my husband's company (Cymru Kitchens) is entering two rafts and we definitely have to beat them."
