LITTLE HANDS: Chepstow Museum's Little Hands Club extended its usual holiday invitation to older children to join them for an afternoon of art and craft activities this Easter.

The children spent the afternoon turning tissue paper, card, glue, sequins, pipe cleaners and more into paper flowers, bookmarks and drink mats.

The regular Little Hands Club meets once a month at the Drill Hall and/or Museum and is for the under fives and their carers. At each session children learn about museum exhibits, Chepstow and history through stories, songs and crafts. Further information can be obtained from the Museum on 01291 625981.

EASTER EGG HUNT: Sharp eyes were needed this month to find where the Easter Bunny had hidden eggs and chicks amongst the exhibits at Chepstow Museum this month.

Visitors were invited to take a list of words and cross them off as they found the locations of the hidden eggs. They were then left with a spare word which, if correctly identified as not being a hiding place, won the searcher a prize.

Many children took this opportunity to take a closer look at the exhibits at the Museum after visiting the Little Hands craft session.

While there they also got a chance, if they were brave enough, to see what it would have been like to sit in a war-time air raid shelter in the latest display in the exhibition room. This is a return of the World War Two exhibit and also includes a 1940s style kitchen.
