PONTYPOOL teenager Danielle Wells is leading the town's summer celebrations this year.
She's been crowned Pontypool Carnival Queen and will head a procession through the streets of the town on Saturday July 14.
Organisers are hoping the weather will match up to the glorious spell of sunshine we're enjoying at the moment.
Danielle was snapped in a blossoming Pontypool Park, which will be the main focus for this year's carnival fun.
The 17-year-old Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw pupil from Blaenavon said she was excited at being chosen.
"It was quite unexpected because I only entered the day before - it's fantastic," she said.
She'll be joined in the procession by attendant Natalia Rawlings, 12; flowergirl Lauren-Megan Jeffries, aged nine; rosebud Rebecca Louise Allford, aged five and pageboy Ethan Nicholls, aged five.
