SPRING CONCERT: On March 26, 2007, Duffryn High School held their spring concert. The theme was Music From The Movies.

The mayoress, special invited guests and the audience enjoyed a varied selection of music from shows ranging from Oliver! Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats, and Wicked, to name but a few. There were a variety of musical interpretations performed by The Senior Ensemble, choir, Junior Orchestra, Celtic Band and Swingband. In addition there were musical and vocal solos, duets and a performance from the dancers.

The evening was a great success and the students were praised for their standard of performance and level of commitment.

CAR BOOT SALE: The March boot sale was extremely successful, with more than 50 cars and vans attending.

Future dates are;- Sunday, May 20, 2007 Sunday, June 24, 2007 Please come along and support us. There is ample parking. Entry is £3.00 for cars and £5.00 for vans. Times are 9.00 until noon. Refreshments and disabled parking available. No need to book a pitch.

FAIRTRADE: Sixth-formers at Duffryn High School were recently given a grant from the Friends of Duffryn to help them set up their own business in school to promote and sell Fairtrade goods. At the open day on March 15 they made more than £200 selling products to parents attending the school. Well done to them!

BLOOD BROTHERS: In March Year 11 English students were taken to The Phoenix Theatre in London to see Willy Russell's award-winning musical Blood Brothers. This is currently being studied for GCSE by the students, who found it an enjoyable and worthwhile experience to aid their revision.

Time was also spent visiting Covent Garden prior to the show.
