We are told all the time that more and more money is being spent by Labour on our public services here in Wales - so why aren't we seeing any marked improvement?

Look at the problems at the Royal Gwent - with the Accident and Emergency unit struggling to cope with the number of patients they need to treat.

It's just not good enough that sick patients have to wait for hours on trolleys while ambulances are stuck outside the hospital instead of going to emergencies.

People in our area are really worried about crime. Our police force is really struggling to make ends meet.

Like you they would like more officers out on the streets, they know this make people feel safer, and Welsh Liberal Democrats would give them the cash to make that happen.

What is the point of spending billions of pounds on plastic ID cards when this money could be spent on real police officers? It's time to take our streets back and make it safe to go out at night.

More officers on the beat give us the security we need in our own home area.

Our children are our future. As a teacher in the Gwent area for nearly 25 years I know first hand the importance of small class sizes.

That is why I back the Welsh Liberal Democrat plans to cut primary school classes to 25 so that every child can get more attention from their teacher.

We need to free teachers from form filling so that they have more time to deal with pupils' learning and behaviour.

We must do more in Wales to save our planet from global warming. We have enormous tidal power on our doorstep, by developing tidal lagoons we can say no to new nuclear power stations.

And we will help people invest in energy creation in our own homes.

We have a responsibility to ensure that future generations have a world fit to live in. That's why we must take action now. Welsh Lib Dems want to produce all our energy needs from renewable sources by 2050.

That's a tough target, but we have a duty to our children and their children.
