Houses in upper Cwmbran are experiencing a power cut.
Western Power have apologised to customers and said engineers aim to restore power by 1.30pm.
They added that as engineers are currently fault finding some households may experience their power supply going off and on.
A spokeswoman confirmed that the cable fault was reported at 10.35am with 3,138 customers in the upper Cwmbran area cut off.
Within 40 minutes all but 57 properties were restored, but engineers are working on fixing it now.
